Kelley Gay

Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer

As senior vice president and chief marketing officer (CMO) for OneAmerica, Kelley Gay leads the company’s overall marketing, communications and stakeholder experience strategy, driving exceptional brand experiences and business results across the enterprise.
With nearly 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Gay has served
OneAmerica in various leadership capacities for more than a decade. Currently as CMO, Gay oversees marketing, executive, internal and external communications, digital experiences, market visibility, brand management, customer relationship management, reputation management, custom marketing and financial wellness programming, marketing operations and portfolio strategy, and customer experience management.

As of enterprise marketing and communications, Gay has played a key role in shifting OneAmerica to a customer-centric organization enabling the enterprise to meet and exceed the expectations of its stakeholders. In addition, her leadership has helped raise the company’s and business lines’ market visibility by aligning marketing, digital, communications and brand experiences to core strategic objectives — ultimately aiding in the growth of new business and retention. In previous appointments at OneAmerica, Gay held multiple marketing leadership positions for the enterprise as well as for the Individual Life and Financial Services and Retirement Services business lines.

Before joining OneAmerica, Gay held several marketing leadership roles at MassMutual Financial Group, focusing on building customer relationships with emerging consumer segments, career agency and independent brokerage marketing and product and services marketing. Gay began her career in financial services as a brand promotion consultant and Phoenix Home Life communications professional and was a licensed financial advisor with Smith Barney.

Gay received her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Connecticut, where she also earned Big East All-Academic Team awards as a member of the basketball team from 1994-1998. Playing on the 1995 NCAA Women’s Basketball Champion 35-0 team was among her college career highlights. These days, youth charities, women’s issues, diversity and inclusion advocacy, as well as business and leadership coaching, are her passion. She and her husband, David, have three children. In her spare time, she is engaged in community and nonprofit activities, enjoys spending time with her family and friends, running and public speaking.

In Candy’s current role, she is responsible for advancing the efforts of Roche’s nine Business Resource Groups, with a focus on diverse talent acquisition and development, building external partnerships, developing sustainable diversity and inclusion strategy and processes, as well as employee education. Candy joined the company in 2002 and has served in several roles in both the U.S. and Switzerland. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in Industrial Management.
